Megan enjoys the thrill of working with clients across the primary industries and creating a positive, lasting impact in agriculture. With a broad knowledge base in farming systems and her skills in facilitation and negotiation, Megan thrives on being able to develop practical solutions for the challenges that farmers face daily, on-farm and across the value chain.

Megan joined AbacusBio in 2017. She grew up on a sheep and beef farm and graduated with a molecular biotechnology degree at the University of Otago. She helps clients achieve their goals, whether that be in-market, genetics, or farming system changes. A marketing component in her degree offers a consumer orientated approach for Megan when facilitating conversations and building relationships. Collecting data on-farm and through supply chains, to analyse customers’ perceptions and preferences, is a highlight in Megan’s role at AbacusBio.

Megan is in regular contact with clients, using her exceptional people skills to create connections and relationships to bring people together, which serves her well in her client-facing role. She works on a variety of team projects but also project manages, facilitates and co-ordinates independently with farmers and consumers, specialists, processors and industry bodies through group workshops.

Her focus within AbacusBio is:
  • Agricultural systems and technology
  • Facilitation and project management
  • On-farm applied research
  • Technology adoption and implementation
