With a background in farm environmental management and life cycle assessment, Ray supports clients in the primary sector and beyond to connect the dots in their supply chains and explore practical ways to improve resource use efficiency and environmental performance. The sustainability certification space can be a complex landscape, and she enjoys helping her clients in navigating the different requirements; making sense of what data is required and where they can build upon work they have already done. Her focus is on translating technical details into clear strategies that support clients in achieving their respective objectives, while keeping the process practical and aligned with industry realities.

Ray enjoys contributing to the adoption of life cycle thinking in New Zealand and enjoys co-chairing the Life Cycle Association of New Zealand’s Best Practice Working Group, creating resources to help local businesses and LCA practitioners better understand ways they can incorporate circularity in their supply chains.

She enjoys getting to build relationships with people and understanding what matter to them. This has always been at the forefront of how she works, and she focuses on making complex or dry technical data clear and practical, with a few analogies often sprinkled in! What motivates her the most is seeing people make progress with the right tools and support behind them.

When not at her desk, Ray can be found trying to master DIY renovation skills off YouTube, playing very social futsal and enjoying long, scenic walks on the (beach) Dunedin harbour walkway.

She has an alphabetical bucket list of sports activities that she has been ticking off since the age of 13.
