Letícia joined us in our Edinburgh office as a consultant, bringing with her a highly specialised skillset in genetics and plant breeding.
Originally from Brazil, Letícia gained a Bachelor and a Master’s degree from the Federal University of Lavras. She moved on to complete a PhD at the University of São Paulo. Her PhD looked at the genomic selection of an autotetraploid forage grass, using allele dosage.
She then embarked on a couple of postdoctoral stints, one at the University of São Paulo and one at The Roslin Institute at University of Edinburgh. At AbacusBio, she will be working mainly on the Bayer project looking at genetic improvement, trait prioritisation, and market development.
